Camp Project

Jenna's adventurous spirit will be remembered through an addition to Camp Metigoshe’s Adventure Course. A high ropes course will be built in her memory.

So, what is a high ropes course? Using harnesses, helmets, cables, ropes and wooden beams strung 20 to 50 feet high among poles, teams explore and experience trust, risk-taking, and team building. On the course, friendships will be built, gifts will be shared and strengthened, and faith will grow - all things that Jenna did so well. A high ropes course will truly be an "ADVENTURE anchored in Christ."

"Higher than the Mountains" will also be the name for the high ropes course. This is a fitting title because it reminds us of God's ever present love AND because, at 20 to 50 feet in the air, people on the course will literally be "higher than the mountains" - the Turtle Mountains, that is.

The course will be constructed by a professional high ropes course design company and will cost $75,000 to build. Not only will Higher than the Mountains serve as a memorial to Jenna and an exciting new addition for campers, it will also serve area youth organizations, congregations, and businesses. Our goal is to have the course up and ready to go by summer 2008.
